John Levan Obituary

John G. Levan, 46, Reading, passed away Aug. 15, 2010, in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Darlene A. (Devlin) Levan.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Robert J. Pieczonka, Phoenixville; and Loretta (Grossman) Pieczonka, Reading.

He was an Army veteran.

John was an avid sports fan, supporting the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Raiders.

He is also survived by two sons, John Levan Jr. and Ryan Levan, both of Reading; a daughter, Leah Levan, Mohnton; a stepdaughter, Beth Hayes, Reading; and two stepsons, Melvin Millisock III, Reading; and Chad Heck, Bernville.

Other survivors include three brothers: Robert J. Levan, Jake Levan and Thomas Wesoloski Jr., all of Reading; and two sisters, Cynthia Tirpak, Birdsboro; and Kellie Diaz-Reyes, Reading.

There are also five grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Gallman-Sonoski Funeral Home Inc., Reading. Burial will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Leesport Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the family, c/o Thomas Wesoloski, 553 S. 15 1/2 St., Reading, PA 19606.

Dad it's so hard not having u hear. I know ur in a better place but I can't help but want u hear with me. I miss everything about u ur laugh especially god I would give anything to hear that again. Sad to hear the loss of a good person. My heart goes out to John's family, wife Darlene and especially his children. He was definately a good father to his children. I am sure though he is chillin with Big Skip and Shotz, looking down on all. May your charming sense of humor and your kind heart live on. One thing I must say is John had a very giving and kindness about him towards others, espec. those in need. He always spoke encouraging words to my boys and gave them positive guidence and advice. He was always good with all children and loved his own more than life itself. God Bless his children and wife and I hope his memories live on through them all and help them through this sad sad time. They say every person has a purpose for being, I hope John's purpose is heard and listened to through everyone, his kindness, giving non selfish respectfulness attitude towards others and his great way with children.
