He was the husband of the late Helen B. (Mandel) Yocom.
Born in Unionville, Pa., he was a son of the late Arthur S. and Ida F. (Geiger) Yocom.
He worked as a dairy farmer all of his life, owning farms in Douglassville and Elverson. Yocom retired from farming in 1976.
He was a 1929 graduate of Pottstown High School.
Yocom was a member of Temple United Methodist Church, Pottstown.
He was also a supervisor for Warwick Township, Chester County; a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Douglassville; and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by three sons: Arthur A., husband of Darlene Yocom, Elverson; James A., husband of Ann Yocom, Bozeman, Mont.; and Kenneth B., husband of Charlotte Yocom, Douglassville.
Other survivors include a brother, Raymond Yocom, South Yarmouth, Mass.
There are also ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, John W. Yocom Jr.; a daughter, Kathleen Yocom; a brother, Clarence Yocom; a sister, Mildred Erb; and a grandson, Christopher Yocom.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Temple United Methodist Church, 1390 Unionville Road, Pottstown, with the Rev. Les Groves officiating. Burial will be at Temple United Methodist Church Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
