He was the husband of the late Ruth Curtis Haering and the son of the late Harry and Mary (Weiland) Haering.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Civil Engineering.
His career took him across the USA and around the world, from Yellowstone National Park to Sri Lanka, working for a variety of companies. He was a man who liked to stay busy and continued to work long after most people would have retired. In his later years he did work for Reading Area Community College, Penn State University and Tulpehocken Area School District.
Joseph is survived by his sister, Mary Himmelreich of Flourtown, PA; three daughters: Katherine Glausman; Linda Stith, of Ivyland, PA; and Alice Frus of Clarendon Hills, IL. He also has four grandchildren: Nathan Stith, Ian Stith, Devin Stith and Evelynn Glausman; and five great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Elizabeth, Isaac, Emmett and Julien.

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 8th at Ann's Choice Chapel in Warminster, PA. Service is at 11:00 a.m., with calling hours at 10:30 a.m.

To Joe's family, I got to know your dad through Home Instead when he lived in Fleetwood. What a kind, caring man he was. He had a lot of interesting stories to tell and I always enjoyed the time I spent with him. He lives on in your hearts and in everyone he touched. R.I.P. Joe...

To Joe's FAMILY, I want to say to all of you that the people here at Reading Area Community College that had the privilege to know Joe are better for it.He was one of the kindest people I personally have ever met.He had patience and always a smile for us during his time working on site here.He became part of our working family here at the college. We will never forget him.Rest peacefully Joe.
