Born in Reading, he was the son of Joseph S. and Florence M. (Bertolette) Hepler.
Joseph was a Reading High School graduate, class of 1947.
During his life, he worked for UGI starting as a meter reader and worked his way up, retiring as a night shift service supervisor after 42 years.
Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was his priority and he was fully dedicated to them; he was always there whenever they needed him.
Joseph was a lifelong member of the former St. Thomas UCC of Reading and was an active member of the UGI
retirees. One of his favorite dishes was homemade pot pie and he absolutely loved the Yankees and the Eagles.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters: Deborah A. Bautz, wife of Wayne, of Sugar Hill, Ga.; Judith C. Rodino, wife of Louis, of Birdsboro; Karen S. Fisher, wife of Thomas, of Bernville; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
