Thursday, October 13th in the Laurel Center Genesis Health Care in Tilden Township.
She was married to the late Wayne H. Spengler, who passed away October 14, 2007. Kathryn and Wayne had celebrated sixty eight years of marriage.
Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Francis Rentschler and Mamie (Haas) Rentschler.
She was a homemaker. Also, she was employed as a sewing machine operator for the former Gettel Garment Factory in Rehrersburg and Liebowitz Shirt Factory in Strausstown. She was also employed by Fein and Glass Shoe Factory in Bernville.
She was a member of Christ Evangelical Free Church in Bethel.
Survivors include two grandsons: Christopher Spengler and wife Stephanie of South Riding, VA, and Justin Spengler and wife Ann of Herndon, VA. One brother, Dennis Rentschler and wife Gloria of Robesonia.
She is also survived by a niece, Shirley Flammer of Hamburg.
Also, she is survived by other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Rodney L. Spengler, who passed away May 2010, one brother, Roy Rentschler and one sister, Irene Adams.
Funeral services will be Tuesday October 18th at 10:30 A.M. in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Pastor Bob Kensinger officiating. Interment will follow in Strausstown Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
