Mabel Tyson Obituary


Mabel I. Tyson, 88, Centre Township, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at 12:14 a.m. in ManorCare, Sinking Spring, where she was a patient since Aug. 4.

She was the wife of Edgar M. Tyson. They were married on Nov. 7, 1945, and celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Elsie (Reppert) Fisher.

She first worked for Price Battery, Hamburg, and Robert P. Miller, Shoemakersville. From 1966 to 1982, she owned and operated Tyson's Diner, Ontelaunee Township.

Mabel belonged to Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greenwich Township.

She was also a member of Northkill Rod and Gun Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a brother, Harvey Fisher, Clearwater, Fla.; and a sister, Betty (Fisher), widow of Robert Welsh, Newark, Del.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Homer and Harrison Fisher; and a sister, Elda (Fisher) Hoffman.

Services will be on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Centerport. Burial will be private in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Greenwich Township. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.
