Karen and family,
I don't know you, but Mark talked of his family often when he stopped by my desk at the Eagle every night for a chat.
He was my card playing buddy and we had fun times arguing and talking on just about any topic.

Dear Chelius Family, I just learned of Mark's passing, and I send my condolences to all of you. I grew up on Alton Avenue in Northmont and knew the four of you, your mom and your dad when you were all very young.I have been gone from Northmont for over 40 years, but have very fond memories of the times we all spent there. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I had only reconnected with Mark recently after having not seen him since graduation. His strength and attitude were an inspiration to all around him.

My condolances to Mark's family and friends. Mark was a truly good and positive person. I knew Mark since the late 1970's. We refereed to each other as "Cuz" being related through a series of marriages. I will miss seeing and talking to him at the health club. My prayers are with him and his family.

To the Chelius family:
I work in the Reading Eagle newsroom and I often spoke with Mark because he would spend part of his lunch break upstairs hanging out with the nighttime guys. He always had a smile, always seemed truly glad to see you. Even during his illness, Mark had an upbeat, positive attitude that I greatly admired. Please know that many at the Eagle are hurting. We lost a good friend. May God comfort you.

Karen, Ben and Mackenzie,
I was very sad to hear of Mark's passing. Although I didn't know him very well, I could see that he was an awesome dad. He was always there cheering Ben on as he wrestled.
Cameron has been friends with Ben since first grade, and your family has always treated Cameron with kindness. I just wanted you to know that your family is in my thoughts during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Jenny Powell ( mom of Cameron Powell )

Chelius Family,
Please accept my most heart felt sympathy during this very difficult time. May you find comfort in the many memories you shared together and knowing that he is no longer in any pain. Life indeed is too short, as I learned this year also with the passing of my father to cancer...all I can tell you is to hug your loved ones a little tighter and always remember I love yous! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that your dad is not very far away...he'll always be with you!
Love always,
Kristin Moyer (Mackenzie's SJH cheerleading coach)
