Mark Wolfe Obituary

Mark D. “Mike” Wolfe Sr., 95, Mohnton, died Nov. 3, 2008, in Berks Heim, Bern Township.

He was the widower of Kathryn A. “Kitty” (McLeod) Wolfe, who died April 21, 1990.

Born in Mohnton, he was a son of the late George G. and Hettie A. (Mast) Wolfe.

He retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., Pottstown, after 30 years working in the chemical plant.

Mr. Wolfe was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mohnton; an honorary member of Friendship Fire Company 2, Mohnton; past trustee of Mohnton VFW Post 9045; and past secretary (1950 to 1954) and past Sir Knight Marshall (1949) of the Maine Chamber 46, Order Knights of Friendship, Mohnton.

He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II.

Surviving are a son, Mark D. Jr., husband of Patricia M. (Brown) Wolfe, Reading; and a daughter, Bonnie L. Wolfe, Mohnton.

Other survivors include a sister, Marian V. (Wolfe), wife of Henry Shirk, Shillington.

There are also five grandchildren: Michael D., husband of Joan Wolfe, Birdsboro; Gregory A., husband of Elizabeth Wolfe, Blandon; Christopher M., husband of Melissa Wolfe, Exeter Township; Stewart Jr., husband of Lori Rivers, Sinking Spring; and Christie, wife of Troy Schweitzer, Mohnton; 11 great-grandchildren: Courtney, Allison, Kaylee, Abigail, Ben, Owen, Mary Kate, Laura, Madison, Tyler and Thomas; and two great-great-grandchildren, Cameron and Bradon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services Saturday at 3 p.m. in Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc., 21 Chestnut St., Mohnton, with the Rev. Richard J. Rimert Jr. officiating. Burial will be private. Viewing will be Saturday 2 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
