Susan, We never met and I had only known Mike for about a year, my dog Nitro used to play with Jake at Maple Ridge Dev. Mike was such a wonderful and caring person and was always busy working out of his house.I knew what he had gone through in his past and I am very sorry to here that he lost his battle. May god bless you and your family and thank you for bringing him so much happiness. He will be missed.

Susan and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. The world has lost a wonderful and special soul. Mike was my big bro also. We met online in 1996 and have always tried to keep in touch. He helped me through some of the worst moments of my life, he made me laugh and he helped keep me sober. He shared his courage with me when I had none of my own. I was so happy when he found you and that you had such a happy life together. I will miss him but I am honored to have had him in my life.

Sue, Jake, and families,

There are never adequate words to express feelings about such a loss.

I first met Mike online in the spring of 1996 and for the last 10 years, I have thought of him as my 'brother'. No matter what personal challenges he was facing at any given time, he was always there for me, and many others. We shared laughter, tears, fears, and outrageously funny times while, quietly, in the background, he helped all around him. He had a great talent for cutting to the heart of an issue, helping people recognize the reality of their situation, and pointing them in the right direction while helping them keep both feet on the ground…

One of my fondest memories is the day he told me he had found the love of his life – a wonderful woman named Susan Denby.

Although my grief cannot compare to yours, his loving, caring, giving nature and his sometimes irreverent sense of humor will be sorely missed.

Sue, as I told Mike many times over the last few years – if there is anything I can do, any way I can help, I am here for you.

Dear Sue, Although I worked with Mike for only a short time at ICI, and knowing of his illness, it was apparent from the begining how corageous he was. His outlook was always positive and a role model for us all.May God give him eternal rest. I will keep both of you in my prayers.

To Mike's family.

I only met Mike on a few ocassions when he joined a "Ride". He impressed me with his easy smile and genuine style.

To each of you that loved him may your sorrow be calmed by the knowledge you had a great guy to share even though just for a shortime.

May the prayers of his friends lift you to know he will be missed by many that were glad to have known him.

God Bless,

Sue,

It deeply saddens us all to get the news of Mikes passing, but surely not as much as your grief at this time. My heart goes out to you and rest assured that you are in my prayers as much as Mike is in my prayers.

Mike and I had shared many times comparing medical conditions, and what I learned from him was very inspiring when it comes perseverance. I will always morn his passing, but at the same time I will also celebrate his passion for life. The lessons he taught me were something that I’ll always carry with me.

Deepest regrets and blessings to you and the Shaw family,

Sue and Jake,

I was very saddened today to find out that Mike had passed. He was one of my best "buds" from the Bose family and even though both of us had moved on to other companies, I could always count on a good "gripe" session with Mike about the state of affairs in the pro audio world. I will miss him greatly and miss his unwavering friendship and sense of humor. You are in my thoughts and prayers

Sue,

Sorry seems so inadequate to express what I'm sure all of us who knew Mike feel at his passing. He was a voice of sanity when I needed it. Mike offered his time and experience to me and my brother when he, Kenny, was diagnosed with Lukemia.

Mike didn't even know my brother, but to have been going thru what he was and to still offer his phone # and guidance for Ken to call if he wanted someone who

"understood how he was feeling" to talk to, meant the world to me. For this, and many other reasons, Mike(geek boy) will have a special place in my heart forever. May the angels above keep him and you in their gentle embrace.

If I can do anything to help you,

please ask. I would look upon it as

a way to repay Mike for his offer of the same to Ken.

In my prayers and thoughts

To all of the Shaw Family,

It is very hard to put into words and express the loss we all feel with Mikes passing.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mike over the years as we shared the same office, technical discussions and some personal as well.

If one of us were having a tough day, we would call out to each other “Buds”, that is a local bar that come to think of it we never did go to, we usually snapped one another out of our dilemma. Besides, Mike didn’t drink but he went through some some telephones.

Mike was a lot younger than me but you had to admire his thirst for knowledge and new gadgets. He would find something new each week on the Internet and come in and tell me about it. “Hey man, check this out”, I just got to get me one. Whether it was electronic, test gear or motorcycle parts, it was cool and you had to check it out.

It was my pleasure to have known him and if you knew him, you truly had to love the guy. He was one of a kind and a true inspiration to me. We that knew him can all be thankful that we got to share some of our time with him for the short time he was here.

Sure will miss you Mike, writing this was my toughest job yet.

“Buds”

Susan,

I hope that as each day passes, the hurt and feeling of loss also passes and is replaced with memories that bring you comfort. Although I never met Mike, the way that you talked about him, his attitude on life, and his fight against his illness should be an inspiration to you and other family members. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Susan We all know that Mike lived each day with a heart full of joy and compassion and that far outweighed the obstacles he faced. I know that you were there for him sharing his love of life and people; after all love begets love. My thoughts and love are with you as you remember Mike, a true testament to courage.

Susan,

Michael was to me, an endearing smile. An overwhelming source of technical knowledge. A fighter. A guy that could make my kid laugh. A dog lover. A person that didn’t see color or display prejudice in any way. The guy with the cool bike - A road warrior(smile). A sarcastic grin between the lines of a private joke. A friendly hug, just at the right time. A calm voice snapping you back to reality. Always the sensible one! (grin). Always the one to tell you how it really was. And a real friend when I felt there were few. In his passing I feel great sorrow because if he was all these things to me in just 5 years of friendship, I cannot imagine the loss you and the both of your families feel at this most stressful time. I hope you can take comfort in his legacy and in the love of those of us that remain, and I hope you can find courage in knowing that God really does have a bigger plan.

All our love,

Tracy, Vere and Teddy – The Archibald’s

We are deeply saddened by Michael's passing. It seems that the best and brightest are taken from us way too early in life. This is all too true with Mike. His outlook on life and his determination to fight until the last should serve as an inspiration to us all. We are truly thankful that we were able to be a part of his life.

He will be missed.

Our prayers are with Michael's family, and especially with Susan (and, yes-Jake!) during this difficult time.
