Naomi Hartman Obituary


Naomi Rebecca Bowman Hartman, 99, of New Holland, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Garden Spot Village, New Holland.

Born in Mohnton, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Groff) Gougler. Her husbands, Arthur Barton Bowman and Harold P. Hartman (1982), preceded her in death.

Naomi graduated from Mohnton High School and later from McCanns Business School. She worked for the former Gilbert Associates in Reading for a time and later as an L.P.N. for 13 years, until 1980, at the Reading Rehabilitation Center.

She was a member of Grace Family Church and the Mohnton and Terre Hill Senior Citizens. She enjoyed swimming, painting, tennis, knitting, crocheting, and Bible study.

Surviving are two step children, Reginald P., married to Helen Hartman of Vero Beach, FL and Rodney H., married to Vicki Hartman of New Holland; 4 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Robert Webster; one niece, Judy Fouch; and one nephew, Robert Bruce Webster, all of Michigan. Preceding her in death are two step children, Stanley Bowman and Betty McManus; and a sister, Mary Jane Webster.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557 with the Chaplain Chester Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the Wyomissing Cemetery in Gouglersville. Viewing will be held on Tuesday at Garden Spot Village Chapel from 1 – 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Naomi's memory to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, address above.
