His wife, Margaret E. (Bender) Gicker, died July 13, 2003.
Born in Leesport, he was a son of the late Daniel and Edna (Hiester) Gicker.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed as a welder at Dana Corp. for 39 years, until retirement.
He was a member of Bern Reformed UCC and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Company.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy L. Gruber, with whom he last resided in West Lawn; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Michael Gruber; three great-grandchildren: Megan, Kenny and Stephen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Bern Reformed UCC, 3196 Bernville Road, Leesport, PA 19533, with the Rev. Bruce E. Dalious officiating.
Interment at Bern Church Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Lamm and Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bern Reformed UCC at the above address.

He was the best pop pop to my husband Jeff and brother in law Michael and a wonderful great pop pop to our son Kenny and my son Stephen and our neice Megan how he loved his wife Margaret who I never got the chance to meet he was a great father to my mother in law Nancy Gruber and a terrific pop pop to my sister in law Amy how I loved him the great kind caring hard working man he was and how he loved his family we all miss him dearly happy heavenly birthday great pop pop Norman Gicker oh the happy memories my husband Jeff has of his pop pop growing up and we have fond memories of how he adored his whole family including his great grandchildren Our son Kenny Gruber and our neice Megan Gruber and my son Stephen God rest your soul it´s August 2 2025 now happy heavenly birthday great pop pop Norman Gicker

Sorry I cannot be at the funeral since I am in Florida. I always enjoyed the way Norman greeted me at church. He was one of the first to do so when I returned to my "home" church.
