He was the husband of Grace E. (Stoudt) Phillips, who died April 1, 2014.
Born in Centre Twp., he was the son of the late James W. and Annie (Stein) Phillips. Paul was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School. He was a self-employed farmer on the family farm in Centre Twp. Paul also drove school bus for forty-two years, first privately and then for the Schuylkill Valley School District. He was also a painter, sold seed corn for a number of years and was one of the founders of Centerport Milk Hauling. Paul was a
faithful member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. He was also a member of Central Berks Lions Club, Central Berks Fire Company and a former member of the Centerport Band. Paul especially enjoyed woodworking, going to sales, and raising turkeys.
Paul is survived by three sons: David L. Phillips, husband of Robin (Spatz) Phillips, Centre Twp.; Larry E. Phillips, husband of Cathy (Spatz) Phillips, Centre Twp.; and Luke C. Phillips, husband of Patricia (Smith) Phillips, Windsor Twp.; ten grandchildren: Tracey Diehl, Beth Phillips, Lisa Zerbe, Kelly Smith, Renee Phillips, Amy Garber, Laura Schoeller, Sarah Phillips, Holly Phillips and Jacob Phillips; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one more on the way. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Shollenberger, a resident at Maidencreek Place; and Alma Klinger, Windsor Twp.
Paul was predeceased by a son, James P. Phillips, who died March 10, 2018; one granddaughter, Rachel Phillips; and two brothers, Martin and Stanley Phillips.
Services will be held on Monday, August 13, at 2:00 p.m., from Salem (Belleman's) Church, 3540 Belleman's Church Road, Mohrsville, PA 19541. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp. A viewing will be held in Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, on Sunday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church Monday, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the church at the above address.

Paul was a wonderful person, always happy, friendly kind. Greatest school bus driver at SV, our girls loved him. We are sorry for your family's loss. All our prayers and thoughts go out to the entire family.

Paul will be missed. He was a good person and was loved by the kids that rode with him to school. Paul will be missed by the members of the Centerport Lions Club, he was a good member.
