Rachel Langan Obituary
She was born July 23, 1992, in Phoenixville. She was a daughter of Raymond M. Langan Jr., and his wife, Mercedes, Reading; and Terri (Thomas) Murphy, known as Lynn to her friends, and her husband, Charles Murphy, with whom she resided.
Also surviving are grandparents, Vonnie, and his wife, Terry Thomas, Blandon; and step grandparents, Richard, and his wife, Erline Murphy, Mahanoy City.
Rachel attended 10th grade at Mahanoy Area High School, where she was active in Students Against Drunk Driving and music.
Rachel enjoyed taking photos of family and friends and walking on the beach and boardwalk, as well as fishing, text messaging and MySpace.
She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Curtis Langan.
Also surviving are a brother, Charlie Murphy, at home; and a sister, Shannon Murphy, at home.
There are also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends may call Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City, where eulogies will be at 8:30 p.m. and signing of the casket at 9 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A white dove will be released in her memory.
The family prefers donations to the Rachel Langan Memorial Fund, which may be made at the funeral home or sent to Susquehanna Bank, 2001 Museum Road, Wyomissing, PA 19610. My dear sweet baby girl. It's been 3 weeks now and yet it still seems like yesterday as you were giddily telling us about your new boyfriend and how much you loved us for being there for you through the past few months. And for all of your life.. Thing is where do I go now baby? How can I go on without you? We all need you so much! Your Dad and I are at a total loss. looking at the clock waiting for you to call and say ok I'm ready to come home now, come get me. But that call never comes. I miss everything about you. your smile your hugs and your never ending I LOVE YOUS! god what I wouldnt do to hold you in my arms again! To smell your hair and tell you over and over again BOYS are dumb and they just don't get it! lol I think I will miss those talks most of all. you are a beautiful young lady and we are very proud of you.. Keep holding on to Curtis for me and I look forward to the day when I can hold both of my babies again in my arms and keep you safe from harm. I love you BUG with all my heart and all my soul. with all that I am all that I have and all I dream to be!!! Rachel, you were always happy no matter what the weather was like, you've shone through even on the worst days. you've helped so many people and touched so many lives and I know that its been a couple of years siince we talked, but back then you nver let the rain bother you we would all hang outin the park next to your house with Lisa, and everybody else. I leave my prayers with you and your family jus keep watching over us and i know that you are there to gelp us when we are in need. Miss Ya Rach!!

I am so very sorry for your loss. I do not know any of you but as a mother of a 7 year old It is sad to loss a child no matter what the age. Especailly when you have raised them and got to know them so much.May the Lord be with you at this terrible time. My prayers are with the family.

You are missed dearly. We all keep hoping that we'll wake up and you'll be there. I see you everywhere I go. You were such an amazing person. Thank you for all the help that you gave me. We don't know what to do anymore. We are trying to get people give donatations so your family has help to pay for everything. I couldn't sleep last night. I was worried that you would show up. I really wish I got to say good bye. Your mom is happy that the last thing she heard from you was that you love her and your step dad. We all know that you would come back here if you could. But your with your brother and I know that you really wanted to see him. Becareful up there and keep an eye on everybody. We really wish that we could come to your funeral, but your mom said its really far away and private. I am going to try and sing at your viewing. You had an amazing voice and I wish you could have gone for american idol this summer like you were planning. You will always have a special place in my heart. You touched my life in a way the nobody else did. No matter what we fought about we could always make up in a few days. I am glad that I talked to you the last time you were in school.
