Randy Steffy Obituary


Randy L. Steffy, 63, of Reinholds died Sept. 11, 2011, in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Linda A. (Balthaser) Steffy.

Born in Adamstown, he was the son of the late Franklin L. and Marcella S. (Bair) Steffy.

He was a graduate of Cocalio High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

"Steffy" was employed by Irish Creek Excavating Co. of Mohrsville as a heavy equipment operator for many years, last working on Friday, Sept. 9. Prior, he was employed by Strickler Excavating Co. of Sinking Spring.

Randy was a member of Rock Springs Hunting Camp and of the Adamstown VFW, Gouglersville Fire Co., Fritztown Fire Co. and the Alleghenyville Grange. He was a member of Adamstown Evangelical Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Wendy A., wife of Ken Kerschner, Adamstown, PA; and two grandsons, Casey and Conlan Kerschner.

Funeral services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Cocalico Football Boosters, c/o Battle Against Cancer September 30th Game, P.O. Box 600, Adamstown, PA 19501. Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home & Crematorium, Mohnton, has charge of arrangements.

Dearest Linda,Wendy and Family.. I want to express my deepest sympathy in the untimely passing of Randy. After having the honor to work with him for several years he has left quit an impression in my heart. He could always make me laugh when I needed a good one. He lived life to the fullest and I learned a lot from him. He will be deeply missed by me and I know by many others. Linda, Wendy and Family, I am so deeply saddend and shocked to hear of this.
