Born in Fullerton, he was a son of the late Charles G. and Lizzie A. (Moll) Peifley.
He worked for Mack Trucks Inc., Macungie, for 23 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, he worked for Alburtis Machine Company.
He was a member of United Auto Workers, Local 677.
He honorably served his country in the Navy Seabees.
Surviving are two sons, Glen D. Peifley, and his wife, Linda, East Greenville; and Keith A. Peifley, Walnutport; and a daughter, Annette “Toni,” wife of Patrick Rooney, Chambersburg.
There are also two grandchildren, Ashley and Ian.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Schantz Funeral Home Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Burial will be in Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Old Zionsville. A viewing will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Online condolences may be made at www.schantzfh.com.
