Robert was born July 18, 1944 in West Reading, Pa. He was the son of the late
William Augustus Graul and the late Sara Phoebe Irene (Yohn) Graul.
Robert was the husband of Ann Louise (Lynch) Graul with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
After graduating from Daniel Boone High School in 1962, Robert worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company as a tire-builder. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and hunting before his accident. Being wheelchair bound for forty-five years did not stop him from enjoying life. Robert embraced traveling, collecting Birdsboro memorabilia and watching Daniel Boone Sports. He became a Birdsboro Historian and kept an extensive collection of articles and information about local people and events. He loved to attend the Birdsboro Memorial Day and Halloween Parades.
Robert was a member Exeter Bible Church. He also enjoyed going to Rehoboth Beach, Del., Valley Forge, the movies, and attending concerts. He loved the History Channel, doing sudoku puzzles and watching Jeopardy. He read the local newspaper from start to finish and loved cutting things out to share with family members. He was also a member of the Berks County Historical Society and the Reading Coin Club.
His favorite sport was high school basketball. You could always see him from across the court wearing a neon orange, yellow or Daniel Boone blue sweatshirt if he wasn't wearing a shirt from Exeter or Wyomissing where his grandchildren attend school.
The joy of his life was being with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children: daughter Stephanie Jean, wife of Timothy Shustack of Exeter Twp, Pa.; son, Robert Daryl Graul Jr., husband of Lowie Tolentino of Birdsboro, Pa.; daughter, Kayleen Marie, wife of Dr. Stephen Soffer of Wyomissing, Pa.; two brothers, Kenneth Graul Sr. of Exeter Twp., Pa., David Graul of Reading, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Shustack) Huyett, wife of Charles Huyett, Jessica (Shustack) Basile, wife of Michael Basile, Nina Soffer, Rebecca Shustack, Montrachet Soffer, Joshua Shustack, Chenin Soffer; and four great-grand children, Mason Basile, Carson Basile, Chase Huyett, and Nathan Huyett.
He was predeceased by a brother Richard Graul and a
sister Suzanne Tschudy.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing which will be held at Exeter Bible Church, 926 Philadelphia Terrace, Birdsboro, PA on Friday, February 24th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. followed by A Celebration of Life Service, at 12:00 noon. Please wear bright colors!

Dear Stephanie and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. What a family man he was. I remember what a huge role he played in your family, he was always there for every event and family function. The kids adored him. I also noticed his birthday was the same as my husbands, July 18th. That made me smile. Take comfort knowing he is walking around in heaven now free from any pain and watching over all of you from above. Sincerely, Sally, (your friend and former neighbor) xxooooxxxx and Lauren and Kyle too!

Dear Mrs. Graul & family,
Deeply saddened to read the passing of Mr. Graul,
He gave me my first "real" job while in high school and was a very patient and kind man. I always enjoyed chatting with him as I would see him out and about. He will be missed by many.
Prayers for your family during this difficult time. God Bless
