Eileen and Max, My heart goes out to you at this time of great loss. Bob made my day happier every day we talked at work. I remember all those days, happy hours, your wedding, Max's birth. I hope all your wonderful memories sustain you in these difficult days. A great lesson for me--don't lose touch with special people in your life. I thought of all of you a million times over the years but let work consume me. I couldn't even make it to Bob's funeral because of work; but Eileen--you, Max, and Bob are in my thoughts and prayers. Bob touched many lives and mine was one of them.

When I was in junior high, Mr. Spangler was one of my favorite teachers. Years later when I came back to Hamburg to teach, he was a friend and mentor. I will always remember his great sense of humor, kindness, and love of the profession. God bless his family; you're in our prayers. (He's probably up in heaven right now causing trouble with Mr. Ketch.)
