Joseph Medical Center, in Bern Township, Pa., on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
Born in Reading, Pa., on October 6, 1947,
Sandy was a daughter of the late Stanley J. and Frances F. (Lavigna) Leas.
Sandy is survived by her husband. Jim;
daughters: Lynn Anderson, Jessica Anderson,
Sarah Schwenk; son, Joseph Schwenk;
stepdaughters, Jamie Bradley, Jeanne Brown; stepsons: Ben Bradley and Daniel Bradley.
She is also survived by a sister, Jo-Ann Ramer; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Sandy was preceded in death by her infant daughter.
Sandy was a former co-owner of Schmeck's Villa for 15 years, and was employed for many years by Austin's
Restaurant and Judy's on Cherry before returning to Schmeck's Villa in a new capacity, and to the delight of many longtime patrons. Sandy was employed until
becoming ill in May 2018.
Sandy loved everyone and she was loved by many in
return. She also loved being both at the beach and
surrounded by animals.
Relatives and friends may extend their sympathy and
respects to Sandy's family at St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606 on Friday, December 21, 2018, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m.
Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery will be private at the convenience of her family.
Flowers or Mass Offerings, if you wish, only it must be said that Sandy had a desire most of her adult life to assist children by donating to St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital, Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Consider that.
It is also suggested that contributions may be made in memory of Sandy to St. Catharine of Siena R.C. Church, 2427 Perkiomen Avenue, Mt. Penn, PA 19606.
The Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home Inc., Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
