Shirley A. Trexler

Shirley A. (Fitzgerald) Trexler, 85, formerly of Topton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in her son's Fort Myers, FL residence. She was the loving wife of the late Lowell Trexler, who died on November 27, 2020, and whom she married on May 25, 1963. Born in Kutztown, Shirley was the daughter of the late Harvey P. Fitzgerald and Cora M. (Heffner) Fitzgerald. Shirley was employed at the former Rentschler's Bakery and the former Wenton Shoe Company, both of Kutztown. Lowell and Shirley were members of the St John's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Shirley is survived by her son, Terry Trexler; daughter in-law, Christine (Hayes) Trexler; granddaughter, Megan Trexler; and grandson, Kyle Trexler. She will be reunited with her parents, Harvey and Cora, husband, Lowell and her daughter, Beth Ann Trexler who died tragically on May 29, 1986 at the age of 16. She will be deeply missed by all her extended family members, and her casino and bingo friends. A funeral service to celebrate and honor Shirley's life will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA, with The Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
