Tom and I were mechanical engineering classmates at Cornell. We were roommates at the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house throughout our sophomore year. Tom was a brilliant man and a gentleman. Tom and Cornell had a strong disagreement about how much effort is required to learn something new. Tom was a quick study who could learn new things very fast and couldn´t see the need for putting in the extra effort that Cornell thought he should. I had a cousin at Cornell at that time who was on the horns of much the same dilemma. Eventually, Cornell busted both men out, which in each case was Cornell´s loss.

I'm amazed at how time goes on without our love ones and friends. There are good times, bad times and there's the Routine. We forget the bad times and remember the good. So we reflect on the good when dates show up and we feel a little better. I hope your feeling a little better Bill.

Tom and I had been best friends since we first met on a hiking club adventure trip to Costa Rico in February of 2008. I quickly learned to appreciate Tom's intellect regarding many subjects, as well as how honesty, caring, loyalty, and thoughtfulness played a major role in his life. We had so much fun and many stories to tell as we traveled, and hiked the Appalachian Trail together between 2013 and 2016, until he no longer had the stamina and mental acuity to continue. That was a sad time for both of us. Over the next years we continued viewing photos and reflecting on our hiking and travel memories. He always said that 'he had a good and full life.' I am so fortunate to have played such a small part in it.

To William Graul, Your words about Tom are what every step dad want's to hear, it would make him so proud. Tom and I were friends from the 50's all the way to our marriages, being each others Best Man. I could tell you many funny stories and times we shared. I was stocked when I read of his passing, he looks so healthy, did he get the corid virus? Glad you have those good memories.

This man who took on the responsibility of helping to raise me left an indelible mark upon my existence. Kindness, patience and knowledge about a great many things contributed immeasurably to who I am this day. Seven months later, to the day, I still struggle with knowing the world, and I, are without him. My sense of adventure was sparked at an early age, and fostered into adulthood by my dad Thomas. There are many things I could write and stories that could be told but that would encompass a short novel. One thing remains constant, Thomas Beitelman will never truly be gone because he and his memory live on in mine and my sister's hearts. Godspeed to you now and forever.

Tommy was a very nice, polite and talkative person. I always enjoyed talking to him and seemed to like the same things. We knew each other since third grade. We spent most of our early school years together. Very nice person.

Shocked to see an old friend as passed. Time as passed since we were young and wild. Not sure I would recognize him today, still has a youthful face. Sure enjoyed our times working in the garage and going to the cabin and Jersey shore, NYC. The 70's were great times. RIP ....
