Bill was husband of Debra (Berdan) Trace, with whom he shared over 33 years of marriage.
Bill was born and raised in Pottstown, son of the late Charles Henry and Grace (Wright) Trace.
He was a graduate of Boyertown High School, class of 1965.
In his earlier years, he worked for Sanders & Thomas in the print room, and later for the Xerox Corporation.
In 1972, while working at Xerox, Bill started his family business, Trace Pheasantry. He would later leave Xerox to work full time at building the business, incorporating in 1998.
Bill was very active in promoting and guiding the game bird industry, serving on industry associations on both state and national levels.
He was an outdoorsman and avid hunter, and enjoyed salt water aquariums, kayaking, RV-ing and growing orchids.
Bill was a longtime supporter of the Schuylkill River Heritage Area, and a participant in the Sojourn. He loved his Weimaraner dogs.
Bill was predeceased by his grandson, Trent Sincavage.
Survivors include his wife, Debra (Berdan) Trace; one son, Christopher S. Trace of Douglassville; one daughter, Tammy T. Sincavage of Wyomissing; one brother, Charles H. Trace Jr. of Washington, DC; and one sister, Candace L. Trace of Wayne.
Also survived by his grandchildren: Alex, Harrison and Tad Sincavage, and Lauren, Olivia, and Zachary Trace. Bill is also survived by his former wife, Cynthia R. Bealer.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service, Thursday, September 4, 7:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A viewing will begin at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Schuylkill River Heritage Area, 140 College Drive, Pottstown, PA 19464 would be appreciated.

Chris we are sorry to hear about your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your dad always kept us stright when we got into the game bird business. He always had the answers and helped us out alot. He will be missed by alot of people. We had alot of respect for your dad. If there is anything we can do just call.

Deb, I just learned of this today, Sept. 1 and I am so sorry. I didn't know Bill except what you told me but he sounded like a wonderful person, devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. I am sure he will be missed by many. Prayers for all of your family.
