Stephen Brodnansky Obituary

Stephen Lee Brodnansky, of Lakeport, passed away Oct. 16, 2006 at the age of 65.

Steve was born Aug. 20,1941 in Santa Rosa, to John and Mable Brodnansky.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of 45 years; sons, Derek (Becky) and Darin (Julie); grandchildren, Garrett, Logan, Mitchell and Cole; brother, John (Eleanor) of Santa Rosa; sister, Sandra Allison of Cloverdale; sister-in-law, Sherry (Ron) Cagle of Santa Rosa; father-in-law, Herb Yeager (Maxi) of Santa Rosa; as well as by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; an infant granddaughter, Kristen; niece, Melinda McCallum; and Linda's mother, Esther, of Santa Rosa.

He spent 31 years working with PG&E and retired in May 1993, after serving as Lake County Area Manager. As a result of Steve's reputation as a manager, the County of Lake recruited him as the Special Districts Administrator in 1993 until his retirement in 2002.

While living in Lakeport he was an active member of Rotary, where he served as president and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He served on numerous boards with a strong commitment to community service. He was also a 45-year member of the Odd Fellows Osceola Lodge of Windsor and served as a past District Deputy Grand Master.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Brodnansky Street Light Fund in care of Savings Bank of Mendocino County, 650 North Main St., Lakeport, CA 95453. Contributions to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity are also requested.

Family and friends are invited to an informal celebration of Steve's life from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at Ranchero DeLaFuente, 2290 Soda Bay Road, Lakeport.

Linda, Derek, and Darin,

I don't know if you remember me; however, I have held the fondest memories of all of you for all the years following knowing you. I regret to hear of your sorrowful loss. I remember Steve's huge smile and warmness and how fun it was to spend a time in your home one summer. More than that, I know all of you were special to many people in my life. You all are in our prayers and thoughts during this hard time.

Sincerely,
Julie (Cheli) Bohny
