Michael,
We are so saddened to hear this news about your mom. We spent many hours together in cold rinks, talking and watching so many hockey games over the years. She was always so easy to be with, we often corrected papers together in the stands and shared stories about our schools. She was so proud of you and so enjoyed all of your many gifts, not the least of which were your sense of humor and mischief ! We will forever see her smile and hear her laugh which made her such a joy to be around. Please know you and your family are in our hearts.

Candy Brickley, my teacher, my colleague, my friend, I will miss you terribly! I have known you for over 40 years. First as my teacher at Coginchaug in the late 70's, early 80's. Then as my colleague as I began my teaching career in RSD 13. Then as my friend and confidant. Candy, you held a passion for the art of teaching. You loved your students and instilled in them the knowledge that life was about choices and that they had choices. You gave them love and guided them, supported them, cared for them. Each one of those students felt your love and knew they were important. You are special to them! You also supported your fellow educators. As union president, you advocated for teacher's rights and guided many as they travelled through this crazy thing called teaching. And finally, as my friend. You and I developed a special bond as I transitioned from career teacher in CT to a new life in Florida. You were there for me and for Brenna and I can never thank you enough! You have touched my heart and I will hold you there always! rest easy my friend. Until we meet again!

Truly one of the best at Coginchaug. I have many great memories of multiple classes with her. She had a great sense of humor and was always so nice. Losing my dad in 9/11 while at Coginchaug she always was looking out for me. She helped me through some tough years. I’ll never forget that. I hope it brings a sense of peace and pride knowing what a wonderful person she was.
