Carson Zielinski Obituary
Our deeply beloved son, Carson Drew Zielinski, a resident of Southington, CT, passed away on April 29, 2025. Carson was born on June 12, 2006, in Farmington, CT, the first-born son of Shannon (Colavecchio) Zielinski and Bill Zielinski. Carson is survived by his brothers, Mitchell and Bryce. He also leaves his grandparents, Linda and Jeff Hutton of Southington, Phil Colavecchio of Wallingford, Mila and Bill Zielinski of Oxford; his uncle, Dan Colavecchio of Southington; his uncle, Michael and his wife, Hristina Zielinski, along with cousins, Jason and Robert of Valhalla, NY.
Carson graduated from Southington High School in 2024. He worked as a Data Engineer for a start-up, Aviato, for the last few years of his life. His brilliance wasn't something he grew into - it was intrinsic to who he was, instantly recognizable and utterly remarkable from the beginning. He had ability to write like no other, articulate and poignant. Carson's incredible aptitude in math and language translated naturally into software engineering. He was building highly sophisticated commercial software at just 14 years old. Carson fashioned himself into an excellent long distance runner before transitioning to weight-lifting. He also adopted a beautiful tuxedo cat, Peaches, who he doted on incessantly. Carson enjoyed being outside in warm weather. YMCA Camp Sloper often served as his quiet comfort, taking long hikes and finding peace in nature.
We will always remember the sweet moments we shared together as a family. Bless his soul - may he find peace with God.
Carson will be celebrated at a private ceremony for his close friends and family, the way we know he would want it. I am beyond thankful to have gotten close with Carson during the end of our time at DePaolo into the beginning of the pandemic. Having both done cross country throughout middle school, I was lucky to witness his substantial evolution to becoming an amazing runner from 6th to 8th grade. I remember vividly a couple of our 8th grade races where it would be me and him leading the pack, and I would always hope it could finally be my day to win, but he would always be the one to prevail, and it wouldn´t be close either. Having him catch up and surpass me in running ability was a huge reason I became close with Carson, which expanded to when the pandemic and quarantine began. We continued to run and called nearly every day, whether it be about homework, training, or life. I´m devastated to no longer have that ability, but am forever grateful for the bond we built. My deepest condolences go out to your family. You are all in my thoughts in prayers.

I went to school with Carson all throughout Flanders Elementary to Southington High. While we weren´t especially close, Carson always stood out as he was very kind hearted and extremely smart. I remember in elementary school we were in math olympiads together, and he was always the smartest of the group!
