Eugene G. Eureka Jr.
Eugene G. Eureka Jr., 76, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Meriden, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Marilyn (Adams) Eureka. Gene was born in New Haven, on August 27, 1948, to the late Eugene and Margaret (McMahon) Eureka Sr. He attended Hamden High School and was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. It was in the Air Force that he acquired skills related to geological land surveying and engineering in South Africa, Reunion Island, and Trinidad and Tobago. Upon his return to civilian life, he used these skills, working as a surveyor and draftsman for the towns of Monroe, South Windsor, and Wallingford. Gene loved German Shepherd dogs, classic cars, woodworking, and cracking jokes. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Eureka; his son, Adam Eureka (wife Jenn); his two grandchildren, Izzy and Henry; and a strong village of neighbors and friends who always helped him out. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12 noon at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at 1:00 PM at the CT State Veterans' Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane in Middletown.
