Frank Crebase Obituary

Frank Joseph Crebase of Pahrump, NV, died suddenly in his home on March 6, 2021. He was born in Meriden, CT, on March 8, 1949 to the late Francis and Louise Crebase. He grew up in Wallingford, CT and was a graduate of Holy Trinity School and Xavier High School, where he was an All-State Football player. He attended Central Connecticut State College where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education; he later completed his Master's Degree in Business Administration. Frank had a lifelong career working for McDonald's Corporation, starting as an Assistant Manager and working his way up, becoming an Owner/Operator. Other business ventures included a Bed and Breakfast called "The Molly Brown" and a specialty hot dog restaurant called "Frank's Dawgs" (we all know how Frank loved hot dogs!). Frank's life took him to many states over the years, from Connecticut to Illinois, Oklahoma, Florida, Kansas, and eventually Nevada, touching many lives along the way. Frank once described himself as an "unpolished stone with a big heart". Along the years, he worked tirelessly with various non-profit organizations, volunteered in his community and was a true philanthropist, constantly giving to those in need. He loved to have fun but always stayed true to his steadfast work ethic; he was a true professional. Frank had great character with a larger-than-life personality and a tremendous sense of humor; he was a father figure and mentor to many. Frank loved cars, traveling and cowboys; a true animal lover, he adored his dogs. Above all, Frank loved his family beyond measure; he enjoyed having visitors in Nevada and always had a tour planned to see the hot spots in Las Vegas - The Date Farm and Red Rock Canyon being some of his favorites. Frank is survived by his sister, Cynthia Crebase (Reno Bisson), of Wallingford, CT; brothers, Paul Crebase (Denise Glennon) of Spofford, NH and John Crebase (Billie D'Alessio) of North Haven, CT; his step-children, Bradley (Kara), Jillian Taylor and Jennifer, Lee, and Katy Messick, well as numerous extended family members and many friends. A memorial service and celebration of Frank's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Ronald McDonald House Charities Inc. 26345 Network Drive, Chicago Ill. 60673-1263 or online at rmhc.org. www.wallingfordfh.com

Three years after his death in 2021, I continue to hold fond memories of Frank Crebase close to my heart and soul. He was generous to many people who needed his help financially and spiritually. If someone needed some money before receiving the next paycheck, Frank would give that person enough to fill in the gap. If prayer was needed, Frank would pray for that person.

Frank was one of the most generous and honest individuals I have ever met. My earthly life was made better because of him. Thank you, Frank. Looking forward to seeing you again whenever God makes the call to "The Gallup Pole"

Thoughts and prayers to the family. Frank is in Heaven with my father and one of his best friends, William (Bill) Dwyer. I am sure both are playing a round of golf as we speak.

My thoughts and prayers to the Crebase family. Frank and I grew up together in Wallingford, attending the same Parochial school, and then on to Xavier. Frank always had a great sense of humor, followed by his signature laugh. Although our paths haven't crossed in years, I will miss knowing that he was around. Peace be with you my friend.

Frank lived where I did, his birthday was always a day ahead of me. I met him again in '63, as member of his OC at Xavier. Rest in peace, my friend

While Frank was at Xavier and I was at Mercy at the same time, I met him in 1975 in a West Haven apartment house next door to him. Four apartments faced an inside hallway and once the four single neighbors got to know each other, we left our doors unlocked and sometimes open. It was like being in a college dorm. We all had a lot of fun. And he regaled us with stories from his training job at McDonald’s. When we all moved on we didn’t stay in touch. My condolences to the family. Gone too early. RIP Frank.

Frank and I were classmates and teammates at Xavier High School in the 60s. Sharing those years with him allowed us to develop a bond of friendship that has spanned decades. Frank was an authentic person. He was a dedicated, committed friend. He was a complete football player and a caring, charismatic member of our greater high school community. He will be missed. A truly great loss.

I have known Frank since college. I have some wonderful memories of our many years together. He was a kind, fun-loving man who loved to sing. He did a great Dean Martin imitation! My prayers go out to his family. I will always remember Frank with fondness and love.

Frank was a great guy! I will never forget him an think of him often! I really will miss him. They sure don't make many like him anymore an it's a shame. The world could use a lot more Franks in it. Til we meet again, fly high Frank an keep watch over us all. May u rest in peace.

My life-path first crossed Frank's in September of 1963 as members of the first class admitted to Xavier High School in Middletown, Connecticut. There was one very specific feature about Frank that I respected the most: he was genuine. He never pretended to be someone else; he was Frank Crebase and very proud of that. Frank was easy to "read". What people saw was him and he never wanted to be anyone else. In addition to his genuiness, Frank was very kind. He was easy to be friends with and he gathered many during his lifetime.

I am very certain that Frank gave more in his lifetime than most people. That is what he was - a giver, not a taker.

Frank - I will so miss your Facebook comments on my page! They always made me laugh. I am so honored for the opportunity to know you and grateful for your generosity. My memories are centered around my visits to Kansas, staying at your Bed and Breakfast (The Molly Brown) and eating your Frank Dawgs! Thank you for sharing your life and humor. Godspeed my friend! I will see you on the flip side!

What can I say...Frank was unique in every way. Our friendship evolved from an encounter at McDonald's in Independence,KS. We became good friends because we both stood up for our beliefs. We respected each other. You will be greatly missed and there is now a void on the planet. God Speed, my friend.

My heart breaks and I’m going to miss Frank so very much! We were college buddies, best friends, and visited him wherever he was! I still have, and proudly wear, my Frankie’s Dawgs shirt he gave me when in Kansas! I cherish all pictures we took with him with all of his animals. He would always call me by my last name, Hansen, and he will always have that special place in my heart! Fly high Crebase, go find Paulie, as you called him, and share stories! See you again one day! Love you always and forever!

Our Hearts and prayers are with the Crebase/Bisson Families. Memories Memories so many fun Memories, from the first day I met Frank at Whalley Ave. McDonalds back in the late 70's When he pretended to be the "Hulk" tearing off the walk in refrigerator door thru the years catching up at the annual Crebase/Bisson cookouts. He always made us laugh with his stories. He will surely be missed. RIP Frank
