Geremia A. Naimoli

MERIDEN - Geremia A. Naimoli, 84, husband of Florence Novicelli Naimoli, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at MidState Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Meriden on Sept. 16, 1925, he was the son of the late Antonio and Nellie (D'Agostino) Naimoli and had been a lifelong Meriden resident. Mr. Naimoli was employed by Pratt & Whitney – Middletown Plant as an inspector and previously by Rockwell Silver Co. retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army, 77th Medical Battalion assigned to the 38th Infantry of the 7th Armored Division, during the Battle of the Bulge as a combat medic and was the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Mr. Naimoli was an avid gardener and loved the N.Y. Yankees and the Giants. In his later years with his wife, he enjoyed traveling to flea markets and the casinos.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Patricia Chaosky and her husband, George, of Meriden; his son, John Naimoli and his wife, Marcia, of Wallingford; two grandchildren, Michelle and Kevin Naimoli; one brother, Tony Naimoli, of Meriden and Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Darmafolski.

The funeral will be held on Monday, May 24, at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden for a Mass of Christian burial.
