In addition to his wife Cecilia, he is survived by his five children and their spouses, Hiram Jr. (Angela), Noel (Sofia), Nolberto (Lupita), Noemi (Alejandro) and William (Anaritha); 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his siblings, Celia Gonzalez, Ana Isabell Gonzalez, Marcelino Gonzalez, Carlos Luis Gonzalez and Maria Emma Bonilla; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his great grandson and three brothers.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, Thursday, Nov. 11th from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am directly at St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. www.wallingfordfh.com

My deepest sympathies to Mrs.Gonzalez and the entire family. I did not know until today and I am so sorry for your lose he was always so pleasant with a smile and a wave.He would explain car issues for me and we would talk gardens .your plants from Puerto Rico were exotic and your flowers soo beautiful. I loved seeing him come in to Home Depot and we would talk some more.He was a perfect neighbor and I will miss him s much.

I worked with "speedy" when I first got hired in bld. 1 and then in bld. 10. A gentleman, excellent mechanic and friend. I am saddened because I am out of state and can't attend services. My condolences to the Gonzalez family. Rest in peace my good friend.

I will always remember Hiram from our trip to Italy 10 years ago. He was a kind and loving man with a big heart and a beautiful voice. Our small tour group met for lunches several times over the years until COVID. Hiram would often burst out in song entertaining us with a beautiful smile. We will miss him. May he rest in peace and continue his songs in heaven.

Remembering my Uncle Hiram, it's like a cool breeze on me. He always knew what to say, even if he got upset he would listen. He showed me how to play the güiro at a Parranda,since then I have not stopped playing it, we sang together many times and danced paso doble and cha, cha, cha. As well as my dad. It was great!
