James Williams Obituary

James H. Williams, 78, husband of Dolores (Dee) Williams, passed away on Dec. 1, 2020 at Midstate Medical Center.

James was born in Meriden on Oct. 5, 1942. He was the son of the late William and Lorraine Williams. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son James (Jamie) Williams, Jr., who he was very proud of, his daughter-in-law Jennifer & two special grandsons, Anthony James (AJ) & Jake Christopher Williams.

He is also survived by his sister, Laurel Neal, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Lesiak, nieces Sharon Hite (Tim), Christine Smith (Ed) and Samantha Neal, his nephews Zachary Neal, Brandon Neal, James Meagher and Christopher Williams.

James was a graduate of Platt High School, Class of 1960. He was the owner of The Kensington Avenue Market before starting Williams Private Sanitation along with his late brother Billy Williams. James then went on to open The Country Depot Antiques in Middlefield with his late business partner Linda Ercolani.

James' greatest passion was going to flea markets and collecting everything and anything. If it was for sale, he'd buy it. Thanks to his best friend Joe DeVivo, who drove him to The Redwood Flea Market and Middlefield Auction every week.

He will be missed by his many friends; especially George Hulbert and his life-long friends and neighbors Mike and Edna Roberts.

James and his wife celebrated 53 years of marriage in September.

Donations in his memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

Due to Jim's wishes, along with the COVID pandemic, a private graveside service was held at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Jim was a longtime friend. I remember watching the sanitation trucks on Leonard St when I was a kid and I would call Jimmy if anyone was fooling with them. Then to have him as a neighbor on Dogwood Lane as an adult. I knew his Dad, Billy and Jimmy since I was 8. He is with his Mom, Dad and Brother now. I will keep you and family in my prayers at this sad time.

I was always happy to see Jim when I was waitressing at Middlefield Pizza. I also remember visiting the Country Antiques when I was growing up and visiting with Jim & Linda. I am sad to hear of his passing.
