Janice Sparico Obituary

Janice K. Sparico, 84, 0f Wallingford, loving wife of the late Louis M. Sparico, passed away June 12, 2021 at her home.

Janice was born in Meriden on December 3, 1936, a daughter of the late William Gleason and Emma (Skoczon) Mandell. Janice attended Hamden High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Louis. They spent 40+ beautiful years together. Janice enjoyed spending her younger years at Roaring Brook Campground where she enjoyed watching her grandchildren swim in the nearby lake and go frogging around the pond. Her grandchildren always enjoyed spending their summers with her and she will always be remembered as their "Memom". In her later years, Janice loved to play Bingo at the Wallingford Senior Center where she was able to meet new friends and enjoy a meal or two.

She is survived by her daughter, Tama Cobb of Gales Ferry; her sister-in-law, Joanne Cozzi of Branford; her son-in-law, Peter Larese of Broad Brook; her grandchildren, Laura Rowe and her husband, Gary, of Wallingford, Aimee Myers and her husband, Vander, of New Haven, Jillian Ewen and her husband, Corey, of Gales Ferry, and Emily Gilbert and her husband, Dan, of Keene, NH. She is also survived by her six great grandchildren whom she adored. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Larese, her grandson, Kenneth Pendleton, her sister, Pat Bordewieck, her brother, Robert Gleason, and her sister-in-law, Lois Gleason.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, July 1, 2021, directly at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Wallingford. There are no calling hours. Interment will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford.

What a great best friend for over 60 years I have the best memories of the 4 of us together at Camp, on vacation, dinner, movies, playing cards, whale watching, flea market, senior bus trips, the list goes on, Talked on the phone all the time I’m going to miss her deeply
