I will always remember Uncle John with such fond memories. He was such a character.

My deepest sympathy to Lynn and Al. Your Dad was always kind and generous to us kids in the old neighborhood of Reynolds Drive. I delivered papers in the morning and your Dad would always be grateful as his paper was there for him to take to work in the morning. Your Dad always with a smile and encouraging words as he would tease me that my paper bag was bigger than I was.

Lynn, I feel blessed that I was able to get to know your Dad and help care for him. He was a lot of fun. And you are a wonderful daughter I know he will be greatly missed.

Lynn,

I am so proud of the wonderful care you gave your father. All your sacrifice and love is making this parting so much harder.

My heart aches at the loss of a wonderful uncle, especially so quickly after the passing of his sister, Marie. I remember the devotion he had to his Mother--just like you had for him. I can remember his manicured yard and his picking me those delicious pears at the house on Reynolds Drive. I remember his trip to VA and how it wasn't hot enough here for him. I remember his smiles and how happy he always was when we came. I remember how proud he was of Alan playing football in Washington, DC, on that Thanksgiving Day so many years ago. And how much he loved and praised you.

It gives me joy knowing that your father is with my Dad, his parents, his sister, his wife, Jo, and they have all finished their suffering in praise of the Lord.

I wish you love and a comforting peace that comes from knowing that you did all you could for your Dad.

Love,
Your cousin, Shirley
