Joseph Sapper Obituary


Joseph F. Sapper, Jr., 93, of North Haven, passed away Nov. 6, 2012 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of 65 years to Jane M. Bassett Sapper. Mr. Sapper was born in New Haven on Oct. 12, 1919; son of the late Joseph F. Sapper, Sr. and Mamie B. Starbranch Sapper; he served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II; had worked in many different departments throughout his career at the former Newton New Haven Die Casting for many years until his retirement. Mr. Sapper loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Father of Stephen and Eric Sapper; grandfather of Joseph and Erica Sapper.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to the North Haven Funeral Home. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the North Haven Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trout Unlimited, Chapter 281, Middlebury, CT 06762.
