Joyce Tempe Obituary
Born in Meriden on Dec. 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Kumnick) Lombardo. Mrs. Tempe was employed by Gaylord Specialty Hospital in Public Relations for 30 years. She was the Princess of the Meriden Sesquicentennial Celebration in 1956.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Pappas and Susan VanEmburgh and her husband, Donald S. Jr., of New York; her two sisters, Margaret Bousa (N.Y.) and Gloria Lorenzo; her six grandchildren, Jacob, Damara, Andreas, Stathis and his wife, Kimberly Pappas, and Daniel and Rianna VanEmburgh; one great-granddaughter, Anastasia Pappas; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Judy Young.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Monday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, St. Joseph Campus, 22 Goodwin Ave. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St, Meriden, on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. For online condolences please visit jferryfh.com.

Sorry to hear about Joyce's passing. She was a very wise and caring woman. Now she's up in heaven with my mother, Joan, watching over her again like she did many, many years ago for $.25 a week. Sincerest sympathies and prayers.
