Kenneth Danko Obituary

KENSINGTON - Kenneth George Danko, 65, of Kensington, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 after a brief illness.

Born July 16, 1948, son of the late John and Jennie (Pac) Danko, he had been a lifelong Kensington resident. He was also a parishioner of St. Paul's Church. Ken is survived by his girlfriend, Diane Howard; a brother, Richard Danko, and his wife, Sandra; a niece and godchild, Cheryl Kaminsky (John); and six nephews, John (Lori Ann), Richard Jr. (Tina), Jeffrey, David (Lori), Christian (Krista), and Mark Danko. He is also survived by 15 great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to extend special thanks to neighbors and friends, Dr. Vincent, and Carol Ringrose, for their kindness, support, and help during this time.

Ken enjoyed racing stock cars, watching NASCAR, the New York Yankees, New England Patriots, and UCONN basketball. He was a member of the New England Antique Racers and Star Club.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m. from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, with a funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Church. Burial followed in South Burying Ground, Kensington. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. So sorry to here of Ken Danko passing. Always had a smile and always could make me laugh when I truly needed to laugh. Pound for pound the toughest player on our 1966 NW Conference Championship football team. I still can see him tackling O"Neil the huge fullback from Plainville, stopping him dead in his tracks with a tackle to O"Neil"s ankles even though Ken was out weighed 2 to 1. Kenny was FEARLESS!!!!!!!!!

KEN we sure had alot of good fun over the years way back to harts bakery with all us guys and the race cars its going to be a very different summer starting now without your knowledge and always welcome advice !in life as in racing the last lap is always the tuffest RIP MY FRIEND ..
