Michael Cassella Obituary

Michael Carl Cassella, 77, of New Place St., in the Yalesville section of Wallingford, died, Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Trailer) Cassella.
He was born in New Britain, Sept. 3, 1929, a son of the late Pasquale and Anna (Santo) Cassella, and had been a Wallingford resident for the past 47 years. Michael was a graduate of Horace C. Wilcox Regional Vocational Technical School, and had worked in construction as the Superintendent of Public Works for the Town of Wallingford until his retirement. Mike enjoyed coaching softball and basketball.
Besides his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his two sons, Michael P. Cassella of Oxford, and James Cassella and his wife, Jayne of Alpharetta, Ga.; his daughter, Patricia Schiller and her husband, Paul of West Haven; and his three grandchildren, Daniel, Michael and Sarah Cassella.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday (TODAY) from 4 until 7 p.m. in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from The Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. www.yalesvillefh.com
