Raymond Charest

WALLINGFORD - Raymond Charest, 92, of Bonnie Court, Wallingford, formerly of Fall River, Mass., loving husband of 68 years of Gertrude (Laflamme) Charest, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014. He passed quietly while in his La-Z-Boy rocker, holding his wife's hand. An Army veteran of World War II, he enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the American Legion, and the Teamsters Union. Ray was quick witted, with a wonderful sense of humor. His true love was being with his family and friends.

He was the father of Denis A. Charest (wife, Karen,) of Wallingford, Daniel M. Charest (Julia Fogg,) of New Hartford and the late David R. Charest (wife ,Ann Elizabeth "Betsy" Charest, of Fall River); the grandfather of Justin Charest (Meghan), Jennelyn Charest (Alvaro Zuniga), Brett Charest (Sara Hall), Jonathan Charest (Allison Brouillette), Brendan Charest (Amy), Jameson Charest (Kristin) and Brigitte Charest (Christopher Burd); and the great-grandfather of Madison, Matias, Evan, Anderson, Ethan, Owen, Xavier, Bentley, Marliegh and Amelia.

Funeral, Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Mass., with a funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, at 10 a.m. Visitation, Friday 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice. Online guest book at
