Robert Cardascia Obituary

Robert N. Cardascia Sr., 55, of Southington, died May 1, 2010, at his home. He was the husband of Patricia (Joiner) Cardascia.

He was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Nicholas R. and Loretta (Ventura) Cardascia Sr. He grew up in Maywood and W. Milford, N.J. and graduated in 1972 from St. Cecilia High School, Englewood, N.J. He was employed by Shaw's Supermarket for many years before his retirement. He was an avid Yankees fan and loved to golf, but most of all he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Besides his wife, Patricia of 34 years, he leaves his three children, Cheryll Shubert, Ann Marie DuPuis and husband, Dan, of Plantsville and Robert N. Cardascia Jr. and wife, Elaina, of Plantsville; a brother, Nicholas R. Cardascia Jr. and wife, Lynn, of Lake Hopatcong, N.J.; and a sister, Patricia Passarelli and husband, Edmund, of Paramus, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Michael, Joey, Danny, Ryan, Morgan, Abigail, Andrew, Madalyn and soon to be baby, Robert III; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held May 6, 2010, at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, Southington to St. Thomas Church, for a Mass. Burial followed in St. Thomas Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Cardascia Grandchildren's Education Fund, c/o Webster Band, 132 Main St., Southington, CT 06489.
