Robert Greenberg Obituary

Robert I Greenberg, 76, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Meriden, Conn., passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018.

He was born in Fall River, Mass. on Sept. 23, 1941, to the late Irving and Mabel Greenberg.

Robert graduated from Cheshire High School in 1959 and Middlesex Community College in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration.

Robert, or Bob to most, had a passion for trains and nicknamed himself "the official train nut". He spent many hours working on his "N" gauge train models and layout. He also enjoyed playing the drums and visiting his beloved Prudence Island. He was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors and friends and was also known as the fix-it guy.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor (Rowland) Greenberg; his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Kenneth Rudnicki, of Meriden; his daughter, Nancy Moran, of Meriden; and five grandchildren, Jessica Moran, William Moran, Robert Moran, Kate Rudnicki, and Abigail Rudnicki; and many extended family members.

Services will be private.

Bob was a true friend and great neighbor. He was devoted to his family. We met him in 1965 when we were first married and moved into our home in Meriden next door to Bob, Eleanor, Sheila and Nancy. We kept in touch over the years and usually managed to together at least once a year.
In any endeavor he took on he was a perfectionist. He was interested in so many things. His passion with trains is an example.

Bob had a kind heart and if you were his friend, it was for life. Our children and I consider it a pleasure to have known him.
