Robert Regnier Obituary

MERIDEN - Robert Henry Regnier, loving husband of Jean Regnier died on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016. He was the son of the late Samuel Henry Regnier and Fern Hebert Regnier.

Rob enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His fondest memories were watching every game they played, every concert, graduation, recital and all of their religious and educational accomplishments. Robert was a four-year veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp, serving at Guantanamo during the rise of Castro. He worked at Ulbrich Stainless Steel for many years.

His children include Suzanne and Michael Gaughran, Nicole and Richard Strickley, Robert and Marika Krech Regnier. His grandchildren are Michael G. Gaughran, Edward Gaughran, Laura Gaughran, John Gaughran, Juliet Regnier and Matilda Regnier.
He leaves behind his brothers, Ronald Regnier (Betty Ann) and Roger Regnier (Tessie); several sisters-in-law, Eileen Kenny (Pat Cosma), Kathleen Kenny, Mary Ellen Kenny (Lou Flotte); brother-in-law, James Kenny (Natalie); and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian burial on Friday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. directly at St. Mary's Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather..His mother Fern was my mothers' first cousin, so that made me his second cousin..I knew Robert best when we all young...I remember him as a really nice person.
