Rosina Sita Obituary

MERIDEN – Rosina "Rose" (Baggetta) Sita, 87, of 60 N. First St., died on Saturday, July 19, 2008. She was the wife of the late Aniello "Gino" Sita.

Mrs. Sita was born in Siderno Marina Reggio Calabria, Italy on April 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria Carmela (Prochilo) Baggetta. She came to the United States with her husband and children in November 1956. She lived with her family in Scranton, Pa. and then moved to Meriden in 1957. Mrs. Sita was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her husband, children and grandchildren. Many remember her homemade bread that she would bring to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church every St. Anthony's Day. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her five children, Giuseppe and Jacqueline (Lefebvre) Sita of Meriden, Maria (Sita) and Arturo Becerra of Chino, Calif., Carlo Sita of Naple, N.Y., Vincent and Alicia (Decker) Sita of Meriden and Assunta (Sita) and Dion Roccapriore of Meriden; 13 grandchildren, Stephanie (Sita) and Steve Staszewski, Aniello Gino and Miriam (Chamorro) Sita, Lina (Becerra) and Quentin Caruana, Robert Becerra, Roseanne (Sita) and Scott DeBellis, Cristina Sita, Michael Sita, James Sita, Sarah Sita, Matthew Sita, Samantha Roccapriore, Alexander Roccapriore, and Monica Roccapriore; four great-grandchildren, Giuseppe Sita, Samual Sita, Brady Staszewski, and Hudson Caruana complete her family. Mrs. Sita is also survived by one sister, Fortunata (Baggetta) Ferraro of Italy. She was predeceased by three sisters, Maria (Baggetta) Ieraci, Immacolata (Baggetta) Mina and Giuseppina (Baggetta) Greco; and two brothers, Domenico Baggetta and Cosimo Baggetta.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Our deepest condoliance to all of the Sita family. I was so sorry to hear of your Moms passing. I have and treasure so many memories of our wonderful visits to your home when we were growing up. We had so many laughs with you Mary, and Sue, and your Mom and Dad couldn't do enough to make us all feel at home in your home.
