Salvatore Privitera Obituary

Salvatore Privitera, 63, husband of Cheryl (Denison) Privitera, passed away after a lengthy illness at his home on June 3, 2018. Born in Randazzo, Sicily, Italy on February 23, 1955, he was the son of Gaetana Lombardo Privitera and the late Raffaele Privitera. He had resided in Meriden for most of his life and had graduated from Platt High School, Class of 1973. Mr. Privitera was employed by Creed Monarch of New Britain. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He was also a youth soccer coach and an avid soccer fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carrie Lynn (Privitera) Green and her husband Marcus; his son, Salvatore Raffaele Privitera; his two grandchildren, Sidney and Avery Green; and his sister, Nancy (Privitera) Handley and her husband Steven, all of Meriden and his stepfather, Raffaele Palumbo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Conni Privitera.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 and at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at a later date.
