Steven Heck Obituary

Meriden - Steven James Heck, 31, beloved son of Marie Dobratz Heck and the late Gary Heck and the loving fiancée of Michelle Mayhew, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 27, 2012.
Steve was born in Meriden on Nov. 10, 1980, and attended Israel Putnam School, Washington Middle School, and graduated from Maloney High School in 1998. Steve attended Southern Connecticut State University. He was employed by Moore Medical /McKesson, of Farmington, for the past six years as an account manager and recently won this year's Presidential Sales Award.

Steve was a huge Boston Red Sox and New York Jets fan. He was blessed with the greatest friends, many since elementary school, and was adored by all because of his wonderful personality and sense of humor. He was a member of the Meriden Elks 35 and Meriden MASA League.

Besides his mother, Marie, and fiancée, Michelle, Steve is survived by his Nana, Maureen Dobratz, who he adored, and cherished; by his two siblings, his sister, Christine Kronenberger, and her husband, Jason, and their children, Garrett and Abby; and his brother, Michael Heck, and his wife, Jackie, and their children, Rylee, Mason; and goddaughter Maddie. He also leaves his beloved bulldog, Hef; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous lifelong friends.
Steve was ecstatic to be marrying his soul mate and the love of his life Michelle on Aug. 10, 2012. In 31 short years of life, Steve touched more lives than most do in a lifetime.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, on Tuesday, July 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network, Inc., c/o Shar Kynaston, Treasurer, P.O. It´s been almost 10 years, but I was just thinking about you today. Was something dumb and not important, but it was funny between you and I. Still miss you a ton, buddy. Life moves on, but we never forget.

Christmas without you is the worst feeling in the world. I miss and love you more each day. I still so miss those daily calls and sometimes pranks but most just miss you calling to say hi and see what was going on and if I was okay. You always asked and Yes Steve, you will always be my baby. Love you always and forever more. Mom

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Steve, I talked to him on a regular basis over the phone. I'm a nurse in Virginia and Steve was my sales guy that I ordered all of my supplies from and honestly, sometimes I'd order multiple times just so I could have the pleasure of talking to him! Our conversations were never just business. He always made it a point to bring out that humorous and witty personality of his!! He was very excited to be getting married and I even "threatened to fire" him if he started slacking due to his busy wedding planning. LoL. I have never been so deeply moved by any one person that I'd never even met. I am in complete shock of this news and can't even begin to fathom the grief of his family and his fiancé. Michelle, he was very excited to be marrying you, he told me so himself. I will miss his voice.... God bless you all and may God bring a peace in knowing that nothing He does is in vain. Rejoice in knowing that Steve touched so many lives in people that he had never even met...

Michelle,
I've had several days to reflect on Steve's passing. Although I met him only once or twice, I was looking forward to the day when I could sit down with him, and really get to welcome him into the family. Sadly, that is not to be. My heart aches for you at this moment. Like your family and friends, I wish I could somehow alter what has transpired, but of course, I am powerless to do so. I just want to you know that I will always love you, and I will be there for you, no matter what. Love always, Uncle Robb

Still seems like a terrible dream to me buddy!I never would have thought this day would happen. The only thing I could think about these past few weeks is my best man speech for your wedding. My stomach had been in knots. Now my mind can't even process what has happened. As an older brother I always tried to protect you and keep you from harms way.I now feel like I have let you down.Im so sorry i wasn't there for you.Things will never ever be normal for me again.I miss you so much already and it has only been a couple of days. The only thing that I can accept about all of this is knowing that you are now with daddy.I sure wish i could have seen your wedding day,but for some reason this day of happiness was shoved to the side for these days, months and years of pain and sorrow..I will think of you every single day for the rest of my life.I cant wait till we meet again Steve. My heart and spirit have been destroyed.Dont be afraid to stop by and pay me a visit from time to time though.Im looking forward to it.I love you so much buddy.Give dad a big hug for me a tell him I love him.Have a PB&J and a big drink ready for me when I get there! I love you sooooooo much.
