Virginia Pitel Obituary

WALLINGFORD - Virginia Brazeau Pitel, 94, of Wallingford, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at MidState Medical Center. She was the loving wife of the late Alvin C. Pitel.

She was born in South Meriden, Feb. 7, 1920, a daughter of the late Raoul Brazeau and Josephine L'Eucyer Brazeau-Hudson.

She is survived by her two sons, and her daughter-in-law, David C. and Christi Pitel, of Anderson, Ind.; and James G. Pitel, of Wallingford; her daughter and son-in-law, Denise A. Gonzalez-Maciag and Neal Maciag, of Wallingford; four grandchilden, Michael Pitel; Priscilla Pitel-DeSanto; Leslie Gonzalez; and Kristen Tommaselli; six great-grandchildren, Grace Pitel; Joseph Pitel; Nicholas Pitel; Olivia White; Isaiah Anderson; and Mia Tommaselli; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Clotilde Ives and Camille Norris.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Friday, March 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Road, Yalesville. Interment will be in In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
