Wilbert Raye Obituary
Mr. Raye was born in Harrisburg, Pa., on Feb.4, 1945, to Charles S. and Clara L. Raye. He was a loving and caring person who loved everybody. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Wilbert Raye, Jr., Phenoix Rumbley, Clara L. Raye Evans (Redbone), Kevin Raye, Lance Raye and Chantel Raye. He also leaves behind his siblings, Lawerance Raye, Mark Raye; aunts, Maxiane and Mickey and Rudin, Edna and Betty; 12 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Glen Raye; sister, Robin Raye.
A ceremony of celebration of his life will be held Friday, April 11, at 12 p.m. at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, 84 Franklin St., Meriden. In leiu of flowers send donations in memory of Wilbert S. Raye to Clara Evans, P.O. Box 4109, Hamden, CT 06514. Services of comfort entrusted to McClam Funeral Home, 95 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, CT 06511. Online condolences available at

I know Willie has suffered these last few years. He is at peace now.

I have known Willie since 1981. We worked at Cuno during those years. I am so sorry that I was unable to attend his funeral. I would have loved to say goodbye to him and pray that he is in a better place free of his medical issues. He will be missed.
