Wilfred Hamelin Obituary
Wil was born in New Haven on August 25, 1945, a son of the late Ralph and Genevieve (Ferraiolo) Hamelin. He served in the United States Air force as a Mechanic. Once released, he became a Field Engineer for NCR - New England. He then evolved into a computer programming engineer.
Wil enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed the many passions in his life. He enjoyed the calm of fishing, the aspects of being a baseball coach with the mentoring and guiding of the kids. However, the greatest of Wil's passions were being a great and devoted husband, a strong and understanding father, a caring friend, an uncle, a caregiver, a stand-up man and a very proud grandfather. Wil loved his family and worked hard and sacrificed for the well-being of his family. Wil enjoyed having a great time with his family.
Wil is survived by his sons, William T. Hamelin of Meriden, Brian A. Hamelin of Wallingford and Robert R. Hamelin and his wife, Tammy, of Wallingford; his daughter, Krista Seay and her husband, Edward, of Wallingford; his sister, Melita Bosnyak of Rhode Island; his brothers, Lawrence Hamelin of Florida and Glen Hamelin Georgia; his grandsons, William, Nicholas and Matthew Seay; and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2 pm until 4 pm. A service will follow at 4 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be private. (COVID-19 precautions and face covering are required at the funeral home) You can view the funeral via livestream by going to his webpage at www.wallingfordfh.com on Friday at 4 pm.

I remember Uncle Will as someone with a great laugh, a warm hug, and a genuine smile. Feel very blessed to have known such a kind soul. We have lost a great one. We are saddened to hear of his passing, our hearts are with you all. May he be at peace and be with Aunt Joan.

Deepest Sympathy to cousin Wil’s family upon his passing. In my father’s later years I remember how Wil made time to come visit and have a drink with his Uncle Tom. They would talk about family past and present and especially about the “old days” living and growing up on the farm. May he Rest In Peace.

Will was married to my cousin Joan. He was just a great guy. I’m sorry that I won’t be able to attend the funeral service. I just had open heart surgery 2 weeks ago and am still healing and with COVID I don’t want to take a chance. God bless you all. Irene and family

My condolences to Will's family and close friends. Will was my graduation partner in 1963 when we walked into the gym to receive our diplomas. I remember him as a quiet and kind classmate. He was also a "friend" on FB. RIP, Will.

My heartfelt prayers go out to the family. Will was a good friend, coworker, and social buddy. At N.C.R. in New Haven, and Milford branches, he Al Anrold and Myself were known as the 3 Musketeers, He will be missed and I am sorry to miss his funeral as I am in Florida.

Remembering Will at LH. He was a class ahead of me and always thought he was such a good looking guy. Wil was one of the nicest men I have ever known. He had a smile that lit up a room. He thought of everyone else before himself. He will be missed more than any words can say. We cherish the memories with our cousin, we send prayers to his children and grandchildren. Love to you all.
