Alice Lisewski Obituary

Alice M. Lisewski

Turners Falls, MA — Alexandria "Alice" Mary Lisewski (Paniczko) of Turners Falls passed away peacefully on October 1st, 2022. She was born September 14, 1931 in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania to Michael Paniczko and Alexandria Wilinski and spent her youth in Pa. until she was 10 years old, then moved to Massachusetts with her family, including her brothers Michael, Bernard, Stanley, Walter and sisters Lottie and Stella. Alice attended school until the age of 15 then went to take care of her niece until the age of 18 and then she met Francis Lisewski and wed in 1949.

Alice worked at UMass as a snack bar manager from 1969 to 1996. When she retired she moved to North Miami Beach to be next to her brother Mickey. They had many years of fun.

Alice moved back to Massachusetts in 2009 to live with her daughter Marie Parker of Turners Falls.

She enjoyed her Polish heritage. Polish music would always be playing and Alice loved cooking Polish dishes. She also enjoyed canning and picking mushrooms.

Alice, also known as Babci, loved her number search books, wheel of fortune and most of all her family. Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

Alice loved to laugh and make everyone laugh with her jokes. She would light up a room with her smile and laughter. She would make sure if anyone came to visit, you would not walk out of her house thirsty or hungry. Once you visited, you were family.

Alice is predeceased by parents, siblings and daughter Judy Lisewski.

She is survived by her daughter Marie Parker who she lived with, her son Joseph Lisewski of Turners Falls and his fiancee Kerry Naumowicz of South Deerfield. Son, Victor Lisewski and wife Marie of Whitefield New Hampshire. Grandson Jeff Lisewski of Northampton, grandson Bob Menko and wife Shannon of Greenfield and great granddaughter Alex Menko, granddaughter Christina Menko of Greenfield and great granddaughter Sarah Arsenault of Winchester New Hampshire and great great granddaughter Ainsleigh Arsenault of Winchester N.H.

My mother Barbara was an old neighbor of Babci and Marie. She always enjoyed y´all´s company and esp fond of Babci. I had the pleasure of meeting both Babci and Marie when visiting my mother. My condolences on your loss, but please know her old neighbor is waiting with open arms to continue their talks and enjoy their Polish Heritage

My mother Barbara was so very found of Babci, having always wonderful things to say. I had the pleasure of meeting her on several occasions while my mother, Marie and Baci were neighbors. While I´m so very sorry for your loss, please know she is dancing to Polish music and her old neighbor waiting with open arms. God Bless you all!!

Dear Marie and family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. I know you had to share her with many of her " kids" from UMASS. I am one of them! We had many a laugh as we worked the early AM shift at the snack bar. Of course Alice taught me how to make pierogi and golumpki, they were the best! I wish I had been better at keeping in touch over the years. Alice has earned a well deserved rest. What a beautiful person she was. Thanks for all of your love and support.
Love,
Fran Grasso Toomey, class of 77
