Obituary of Margaret "Marge" Lisewski
Margaret "Marge" Lisewski passed away on December 11, 2022 at the age of 99+ years.
Margaret was born in West Paterson, NJ to her late, loving parents Henry and Louise Colarelli. The family later moved to Upper Nyack, NY, where she enjoyed life along the shores of the beautiful Hudson River.
She graduated from Nyack High School in 1942 and worked at Camp Shanks in Orangeburg, NY during the troop buildup for D-Day. She was a secretary for Miller & Miller Associates for more than 30 years, also having served as an election officer for Rockland County, NY. While at a dance at Scotty's Restaurant in West Nyack in 1946, she met the love of her life, Victor "Vic" Lisewski and after a two year courtship they married in 1948.
Having outlived most of her family and lifelong friends, Margaret is survived by her sister Florence Kipp; 3 children: Linda (Michael) Honara, Debra Clark & Victor (Vicki Berman) Lisewski Jr.; 8 grandchildren: Joanne (Scott) Bensky, Erin (Ron) Charlton, Allison (Paul) Denver, Brian Clark, Kevin (Marilyn) Lisewski, Collin (Jessica) Lisewski, & Tara (Nate Popiel) Lisewski; 15 great-grandchildren: Trenton & Sebastian Honara, Jake, Drew & Ava Bensky, Olivia Charlton, Gregory, Mairead, Pearl & Hazel Denver, Caden, Rowan & Amaya Lisewski, and Maci & Riley Lisewski. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years Victor Lisewski Sr., brother Henry (Henny) Colarelli, sister Gloria Colarelli, son-in-law William (Billy) Clark, and grandson Christopher Honara.
Margaret's family will receive friends at T.J. MCGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Margaret on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville, with interment to follow at F.W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
