Constance Kelsey

Whately, MA - Constance "Connie" Kelsey, 75, passed away October 1, 2025, at her home in Whately, MA. Born in Northampton, MA October 9, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Sabin and Sophie (Jekanowski) Filipkowski. She was educated at Whately elementary schools and graduated high school from The Northfield School for Girls. Connie graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art, and studied to be a Paralegal at Elms College, before returning to Whately.

Connie enjoyed painting, knitting, and playing the piano. She was an avid cat lover and gardener. Her free time was largely spent outdoors, and she always enjoyed a good hike. Connie was an active member in both the Bell Choir and Art Association.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother Melvin Filipkowski. Connie is survived by her brother Alan Fillip and his wife Nancy of Westford MA; nieces and nephews Justin Fillip and his wife Jill, Adrienne Gotreau and her husband Chris, Vanessa Fillip, and Carla Fillip and her husband Raymond. She also leaves 7 great nieces and nephews: Sophie Ivan, Ryan, Damien, Caleb, Cameron, and Rosalie.

An in-House Service will be held at Wrisley Funeral Home Wednesday October 15, 2025, at 3 pm. Calling hours will precede the service from 1 pm to 3 pm.

I am deeply saddened by Connie's recent passing. She was a great friend for many years and had lunch with her several weeks ago. I knew of her many health struggles over the years and that most recently the news was not encouraging. I pray that Connie will remain in your hearts forever as she will in mine. May God bless and comfort you all as you grieve her passing.

Connie was a good friend of mine for over 30 years. We spent many holidays together over the years, enjoyed our chats and occasional lunch as well as many years in the bell choir at Sunderland Congregational Church. She was our kitty-sitter for almost 20 years. We spent a leisurely afternoon together not too long ago. I will miss her greatly. Farewell dear Connie. May God gather you closely and give you peace.
