Duncan Norwood Obituary
Duncan grew up in Westminster West, VT. He was a confident, exuberant soul, whose enthusiasm for adventure was contagious. He always enjoyed the company of friends and family around him.
When Duncan had children of his own, he spent much of his time sharing with them his love of nature and sports. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and hiking in the woods. He enjoyed many sports including hockey, running and swimming; he loved dirt biking and four-wheeling and he loved to go snorkeling in the Caribbean and camping in Maine. Duncan also worked as a Train Conductor for Amtrak and was proud of his job.
Duncan left a strong impression on all who knew him. He will be sorely missed by those he leaves behind, especially his two children whom he loved so very much, Natalie Ann and Logan Arthur Norwood; his mother, Alice M. Kehoe and partner Wayne Cyr of Richmond, NH; his father, Gordon A. Norwood and wife Lauren Y. Watrous of Bernardston, MA; his sister, Honor C. Norwood, and niece, Josephine A. Dahir of Putney, VT; the mother of his children, Jennifer Bradbury; his aunts and uncles, Siobhain and Dave Meacham of East Windsor, CT; Kevin and Cindy Kehoe of Manchester, CT; Roderick Norwood of East Hartford, CT; Martin and Becky Norwood of Albert Lea, MN; James Norwood of Manchester, CT; Douglas Norwood of Manchester, CT; and numerous cousins and friends.
A private service will be held in Bar Harbor, Maine.
There will be no calling hours
A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church in West Minster West, VT, on Dec. 15th 2013 at 2 p.m.

I would like to say that Duncan left an absence in my heart. I will never forget him. He was my prince! He was perfect and his smile lightened up my day. I will miss him always. I will never forget the laughs and good times we shared. I will always miss him. I can’t believe you went away. May the Lord keep you till one day we meet again!!!❤

I had meet Duncan out in Puntey at a friends drive way. started talking about music and local bands. he said my cousens name and I started to laugh. I told him right then and there he's my family and we shared from there on out stories. We lost contact and out of no wheres always run into each other when one another needed that extra smile in our step for the day. Seeing him out with kids and hearing the stories always warmed my heart. You will be missed my friend.

I was so overcome with sadness hearing about Duncan. I got to know him while at Dougs in Manchester and what a man. My deepest sympathy to Alice, Gordon and all the Norwood & Kehoe families. May Duncan be with the Angels now watching over his children. Never forgotten.

My deepest empathy to Alice, Honor, Gordon and Duncan's children. I have only the most wonderful memories of Duncan. From living next door to Duncan and his family I can tell you that boy never walk anywhere as a child...he ran. thump, thump, thump, thump, thump went his little feet every where and back again. When I think of this sound it makes me smile at his enthusiasm for his destination. One time he was over my side of their home and he picked a coffee cup and looked at it with wonder and next he dropped it on the floor. Why? His face was saying "just because" with a delightful impish smile. I know because he was Duncan, doing it his why. He will be truly missed. Alice I love you and am thinking of you and your family with all my heart.

Dear Cousin Duncan, I have many good memories of the times we all had as family together. I remember you as a baby and then as a child, when finally either you and Honor would come to visit or we came to your house and it was happy faces all around. I remember when in Junior High you came to hang out and we went to play pool how fun it was. We always looked forward to Family events so that we would have a chance to catch up. I am glad our parents took time to get us together. I will make sure that our children, Padraigh, Josie, Natalie and Logan, Devin and Miles know each other and spend time together making memories in the coming years. We will make the time. I find myself deeply consoled by thinking of those good times passed and more yet to come. I will always regret that we were not closer as adults, but I also realize that life is busy especially when children get on the scene. I am glad for technology like FB that gave us a chance to glimpse each others day to day lives. I am proud of the way you expressed your love for your children. You were often in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for being all that you were to us as a cousin and a friend. We all loved you so. Rest in peace.

Duncan was the first boy to ask me to marry him. We were in third grade, best friends, and the schools tetherball champs. Another west west boy leaving too soon. He will always be remembered in my fondest childhood memories.
