Eleanor Kennedy Obituary

WHATELY - Eleanor Joan (Moisan) Kennedy, 100, of 76 Chestnut Plain Road, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in Overlook at Northampton.
She was born in Northampton, Aug. 13, 1912, the daughter of Arthur and Valerie (Simoneau) Moisan. She was educated in Northampton schools and graduated from Northampton High School, Class of 1931, later graduating from Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing in 1934.
Eleanor was married to Roger D. Kennedy on Oct. 1, 1935 in Sacred Heart Church, Northampton. All of their married life was in Whately. Roger predeceased her in 1969. She was Whately's oldest resident.
She was a former member of St. James Church, Frontier Senior Center and an avid Bingo and card player. She did volunteer work at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.
She leaves one son, Roger D. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Lise of Whately; one daughter, Katherine ""Kit"" Fleuriel and her husband Paul of Whately; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A grandson, J.R. Fleuriel, predeceased her on May 12, 2012.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial Mass will take place with a date and time to be announced.
Donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Whately Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 802, Whately, MA 01093.
